I couldn't finish it. Though I liked it for the most part, it felt aimless with no character growth. I believe these are journal accounts of the actual James Herriot. With that in mind, a sweet book but my life was too busy to feel relaxed while reading it. And Tristan was just a pain in the ass over and over.
