One of those books where I have to stop myself from rerouting my whole life to switch to the author’s industry. No, it is NOT wise to drop everything to become a vet, I must remind myself. As COOL as he makes it sound, this is not smart. …. or IS IT-

What a lovely book! It was so evocative of a time and place. If you feel like a reading a book that makes you laugh out loud this is a great one.

My mom told me to read this book at least 15 years ago... she thought I would like it. According to her, she kept stumbling upon copies and would ask me if she'd already bought it for me. I don't recall any of this, but apparently I kept saying no, and that is why I currently own literally 4 copies of this book.
Well. I finally got around to reading it, and wouldn't you know, she was right. How about that? This is just a feel-good book. It's a light read, there's some good, dry humor, and it's entertaining. I'd like to read the rest of the series (which I also own, but I think I only have one copy of each of the sequels)... I'll probably get around to reading the next book in about 15 years.

This was a sweet and funny memoir about a country vet in England in the 1930s that read a bit more like a novel than a memoir. James Herriot is a gifted writer and I appreciated his tales about his early years as a veterinarian. You could sense through the writing how Herriot cared for all animals, livestock and pet alike. Many of his musings were pretty humorous and left me chuckling - particularly the tales of his boss and his boss’s younger brother. Some of the animal stories got a bit repetitive and the book took me quite a while to get through even though I love animals, but I will definitely be reading the next memoir in the series.

I really enjoyed the audiobook, the narrator did a great job reading Herriot's tales. The short story style was perfect for my car rides. Entertaining and lighthearted.

"All Creatures Great and Small" is a cozy read that feels a bit like magic despite its events being entirely mundane. I loved it

I have been listening to a chapter of this everyday during my lunch breaks, and it has been a joy every time. Incredibly glad these are as good as I remembered.
