Read about 100 pages and for some reason just didn’t want to keep going, came back a couple weeks later and glad I did. Decent twist, fun story. Wasn’t in love with the book but did end up enjoying it. Millie is annoying.

Fucking Twisted.

★ 10 / 10 ★

Even through the simplicity of language, McFadden is able to convey a twisted tale of
romance, crime & murder.

I initially found myself interested in reading ‘The Housemaid’ by Freida McFadden due to the upcoming movie starring THEE Amanda Seyfried & the spectacular Sydney Sweeney. The story that unfolded before my eyes was the most engaging I have ever come across in my life - deadass.

McFaddens writing technique is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The foreshadowing, metaphors, gripping cliffhangers, switch in character perspective & the readers opinion.
A story you cannot foretell.

In conclusion, Freida McFadden - you have me hooked! This book is going down in history. Best crime thriller I've ever read.

At the 60% mark and I've never read a book that made me physically angry at the author. I almost don't want to finish it because, knowing her style, I feel like the reveal will just make me more upset. I like a easy airport l thriller but this is absolute nonsense.

Ultimately DNF at the start of act three.
Andrews tortures over three books left out just made my eyes roll.
. Read a synopsis of the ending and do not regret not finishing. Everything just feels so proposterous and the writing, goodness, it's so bad. Every scene drags in and makes no sense.

I was driving and had to stop because I was getting so physically angry at the book that I was afraid I'd drice off the road. Don't get me wrong,  I like a cheap airport thriller. I'm not a high brow reader. I loved The Silent Patient, for example. But how does anyone enjoy this???? I feel like I'm getting gaslit.

Looooved this book! Literally read it in 2 days
