Tahereh Mafi has done it again! I need the second book asap, I was literally hooked and couldn’t put the book down
Plus we got to see Warner again
Plus we got to see Warner again
Heheheheheh Tahereh knows how to write YA dystopian romance. Her MMC’s *chef’s kiss*
The characters have so much chemistry between them, and not just romantic chemistry. Seeing James with his family from the first series is really good. They feel the same even though they are older. Their characters weren’t changed for the sake of James’s story arc and he had fun with them. Loved seeing that
Reading this made me want to reread Shatter Me. Even though I think that series got an average of 3 stars from me, the world is so interesting and I love the idea
I was cautious about the 10 year time jump and reading about James as an adult, but it was handled really well. It had enough references to the previous books to jog my memory but not feel like it was repetitive or being spoon fed to me as a reader
It was fun reading from Rosa’s POV which sees James and the New Republic as ‘villains’.
The ending was satisfying. It made me excited for the next book to come out and continue the series
