Amanda Eyre Ward does an excellent job at writing this book and bringing entertainment to the mind of readers! All I expected when I bought this book was an easy read and something to enjoy, but it was so much better than that. The characters are truly complex and have their own set of problems, ailments, and quirky traits that add to the story. They also have humorous moments that highlight the story's "beach read" qualities.
The family that narrates the book is somewhat broken, a little conflict-avoidant, and full of all the makings of a true family. They are imperfect, they are connected, and they all want to be loved.
I really enjoyed Ward's ability to make serious topics a little lighter without skating over their impact on a person. I also really enjoyed the pace of each chapter - very quick and easy to comprehend while not skipping over any details.
Such a good book to get out of a reading rut, break into summer reading, or have something fun to entertain your mind with.

I love a story that alternates chapters being told through different characters’ views. This one was clever, as it carefully exposed what some believed as truths and others as lies. However, It wasn’t until halfway through that this story finally caught my attention and my need to read late into the night. The first half seemed like a flimsy beach read, but the second half had deeper meaning and life discussions. A good read.
