Loved it! Light and entertaining reading - It would make a great beach read.
Andrew Greer left a review of this, saying "The funniest novel that broke your heart" - I couldn't agree more. This novel kept me hooked - I was holding my breath through the entirety of it, to see what hilarious, sad events would transpire on this cruise that Charlotte, Reagan, Lee, and Cord were on. Ward's descriptions of the family dynamics, while also making sure that each character was given the proper spotlight, was fantastic. Who knew that a cruise buffet with singing cast members could be a perfect place for estranged family members to reunite?
Even after finishing, the emotions I felt stayed with me, and I found myself wondering if Cord changed, and whether Reagan was happy, and if Lee found what she was looking for (Charlotte I cared less for, although I hope she's happy as well!)
Would I read this again? Probably not. Am I glad I read this book though? Yes!

Zipped through this one to find out what the heck happened. I'm not sure what I expected from it, but it wasn't what I got--it's pretty dark, though there are certainly funny parts as well. Addiction, coming out, depression, suicide, ageing. . . they all play a part. Then add in FAMILY in close proximity and boom: you've got it. Still, I came to care about the various family members, and after nearly quitting about 1/3 through when things just felt too bleak, I got going and ended up finishing it after our New Year's fire pit gathering for my last book of 2020!
Delicately recommended for those who don't mind a somewhat dark family story. Reminded me a bit of The Family Fang, I guess.

Judge this book by its cover, if it looks like a low brow beach read it’s because it is. So disappointing for a Reese’s book club pick. I was expecting a family saga, it skims the surface of that. What a family saga can sometimes lack in plot they usually make up for in well written characters and deep exploration of their…well, character. This book lacked both. Leave the dysfunctional families to Ann Patchett and Jonathan Franzen. Oh, and if you’re already a bit squeamish about septuagenarian sex then do not read this book!
Cute cover, bad writing. Homophobic undertones and a very hypocritical mother.
I LOVED this book! A big reason is because I love cruising and have been on a Mediterranean cruise very similar to this one so it was really easy for me to picture the settings. I got super wrapped up in the relationships between the characters and couldn’t put it down most nights. I wanted to know more about how the characters dealt with certain revelations that came to light in the final chapters, but that wasn’t really the point of the story. It focused on a particular part of their journey on this ship in beautiful surroundings.
This book has received a lot of bad reviews, but I think a big issue is how this book is marketed. The title and cover suggest a fun, light travel story (maybe even a rom com) but this is actually a novel (could even be considered lit fic??? idk) about complicated family dynamics. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. I defs think it could have been written a bit better, but I also think a lot of people’s issues with this book come from unmet expectations.
Almost a DNF. Fooled by a cute cover and back of the book blurbs that are completely erroneous to the plot. Duped by Reese’s book club sticker, won’t trust those as a recommendation anymore. Not a beach read. Four distinct but fake characters and I couldn’t care about any of them. Just finished to see what the heck the point was.

Graphic: Suicide, Suicide attempt
I agree with others that for a Reese book club pick, The Jetsetters isn't as good as others I've read that get the designation. However, this is not a bad book. I enjoyed it and the characters.
