I found this book to be disjointed

For me, this felt like a disjointed and dysfunctional episode of the Love Boat TV series. There were missing links, such as the whole contest thing with the mother, and the story seemed to always remain at a superficial level, despite trying to take us deeper into the characters. It just failed to move me somehow.

I had heard this was good so really pushed myself to finish. I rarely wanted to pick it back up but did finish with lots of skimming.

Was an odd book - a fluffy light beach read that tried to get very serious but failed completely. i had such a hard time connecting with any of the characters and the choices the made.

A quick, easy read, but pretty depressing. A dysfunctional family drama that makes you want to slap some sense into the main characters. Also you'll never want to go on a cruise again.

This book got low reviews, but I liked it. It's definitely not a light read. Lower stars because I felt it was missing something.

Reading this was like watching a medium– budget Lifetime movie. It was predictable, clichéd, and at times a bit unbelievable. Nonetheless, I stayed through the end.

this family has ISSUES it was kind of interesting at the end when they all came out (for Cord literally coming out lmao). I think all their issues stem from daddy/ mommy issues. typical. Charlotte was kind of the worst character she had very little development and if anything got worse at the end? like she was still homophobic and her daughter was trying to kill herself and she was off having sex? she’s literally 70 years old what was going on

A dysfunctional family drama with some big and small secrets along with a half dozen of interesting European locations.

This is a quick read with short chapters told from each of the 4 main character's point of view.
Sometimes it's hard to keep the narration straight in that style but for this book it works well.

A good choice if you (like me) have had trouble concentrating fully on a book.

It wasn’t terrible. Probably not my favorite book but it was an easy summer read.

If you like the HBO show White Lotus then you might like this. This book as a similar vibes. At least that’s the vibe I kind of got from it

I give it 4 stars because I almost stopped listening halfway through. I found I wasn’t invested in the characters and didn’t really care what happened. But I kept going and glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the end. I feel like we could all relate to parts of the characters and could make for a good book club discussion.
