it was such a particular read. like i struggled to understand what a was going on at times. but i think i should’ve done my research before starting the book as it would have saved me a lot of confusion. i’m excited to study it at school and see what we can take out of it…

For a deceptively light read this plot has a common point with [b:Gone Girl|21480930|Gone Girl|Gillian Flynn|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406511734s/21480930.jpg|13306276] and then it starts getting psychological or "this shot off the crazy scale, currently en route for the moon".

The book analysis takes another hour to read.

Please let it be noted that I read this in the original French.

Not my favorite Duras book. Not very much happens and not in a fun way. Lots of depersonalization, voyeurism, just kind of generally being out-of-body and lost because of one strange event. Also didn't seem like Lol was that put together before the whole Incident, but that we will never know.

Hmmm, I'm not quite sure what to think. Maybe this is one of those books that will really grow on me as time passes. Right now I just don't feel like I'm intellectual enough to get it.
