4.3/5 This was a book I wouldn’t have picked up on my own but I got it in my Once Upon A Book Club adult July box so I picked it up. I was surprised when I found myself enjoying this book a lot. I loved how it followed 1 family and a friend of theirs but it was in 3 different locations. Hanna is definitely my favorite character out of everyone, I loved reading her pov the most out of everyone's.

I’ve realized I am not a big fan of WWII historical fiction and I was just not into this book.

I'd technically give this 3.5, but there's no .5 stars.

The title and concept of these women being "war girls" is cheesy and slightly cringy. The author could have easily come up with a much better name to call themselves throughout the novel.

I also don't feel I had closure on some of the stories. Some of them just end without giving you details as to what happened next, leaving it to the imagination, really. They give speculation through other characters and conversations, but once you invest in a character, you'd really like to see what their whole story holds.

So those are my critiques. Otherwise, it's another great perspective of the war. Everytime I think I've read every perspective, I find a new one.

WW2, from London Blitz to Warsaw ghetto and SOE spies, this novel covers stories of British, Polish, Nazis, and Polish Jews. Quite an undertaking that seems to all work together in one book. Let us never forget.

The War Girls is a must read for anyone wanting to experience the horrendous atrocities of World War 2. The War Girls is a must read book who want to remember those that were lost. The War Girls is a book praising those that fought against the Nazis in many different ways.

This book was not easy to read. At times I had to put it down and gain my composure before reading on. Other times I had to put it down for the rest of the day. The author went in to graphic detail.

The author took us to the ghettos. Descriptions had me experiencing what she wrote. There is details of the struggles within the walls of the Jewish Ghettos. The reader learns of the struggles of those living on the outside of the walls. The hunger, the cruelty, the sufferings had me breaking down.

The War Girls doesn't just concentrate on the horrors of war. The reader goes through some of the strict training that members of the SOE had to go through. Those that succeeded really were the best of the best. They risked everything to help the Allies win the war. I will be forever be grateful to the men and women of the SOE.

Grab this book and remember so we don't repeat the past.
