I decided to read this book because of the title. After the year we had in 2020, it seemed appropriate to desire a grace year, right? The story is a cross between Handmaids Tale and Lord of the Flies; a society that keeps women in their place with dis-information and mistreatment, but one where then women themselves are more brutal to one another than anyone else. In the end there is a message of hope, strength and kindness. But change will take time. I just hope the same happens in real life.

4.25 ⭐️ fast-paced and creepy. I would describe it as a mix of the Handmaid’s Tale, Lord of the Flies, and the Keep Sweet, Pray, and Obey documentary.

It’s YA, but I probably wouldn’t recommend it to anyone younger than 18 lol.
