Queen Song

Victoria Aveyard

As my first introduction to this world, it was a bit strange (because I was kind of adapting to this fantasy with cameras and motors), but because everyone raved about Red Queen, I wanted to start at the beginning and I did really like this, albeit depressing and dark to a shocking point.

Trigger warnings for depression and suicide.

A heartbreaking story, but really beautifully written.
I don’t remember much from back when I read Red Queen, but I came to understand how that major plot twist happened. I really felt for poor Corianne.

I loved this novella so much. I loved getting to know Coriane since she's mostly just mentioned in the series. I wish Cal had gotten to know his mother. I just know he cherished her letters she left for Julian so much. When he finally read them, that is.

Wow...

Is she really dead? I was wondering if there was a chance she'd be alive when I was reading Glass Sword but guess not.

Oh my good gravy! This novella was a masterpiece. It's starts out a little slow, but rapidly the pace picks up as you hurtle towards the end. Aveyard has another victory on her hands! Simply amazing!
