Ohhhh my goodness. I am so excited to continue this series. This was an interesting glimpse into the life of Coriane who we never knew in Red Queen. The poor girl had a sad life and a sad ending. Even with love and a crown she is not happy. AND OH GOD IS ELARA EVIL! I cannot believe she got in her head and caused her so much pain and eventually suicide. I did not see that coming, I thought maybe Coriane was just a little unhinged. SO glad I read that and so ready for the next one!!

Interesting little antidotal book. Though I'm a bit confused about something that might be a spoiler...
I thought the short story was about 100 pages long. Turned out that there is an extract from the second red queen book in it. 😂 i've already read that one. But hey. These short stories are good for my reading challenge
One of the better YA novellas I've read. You feel so strongly for Coriane, and to say more would be to invite spoilers. It won't ruin anything from The Red Queen, but it is definitely worth the hour or so to read.
This was simply too short to really develop anything. I know it is a novella, but it seemed to flow rather disjointedly and hurriedly. I would have liked it to be a little longer to flush out some of the relationships a little better.
This made me bawl my eyes out for a solid hour. Goddammit.

The story was bleak and depressing but I enjoyed it. I liked the characters more than I liked those from the Red Queen, hope we will get to learn more about them in the further installments of the series.
