Queen Song

Victoria Aveyard

3.69 AVERAGE

I ultimately liked knowing more about the history of the missing queen, but her ultimate demise was not as insidious as implied in Red Queen. I think it was meant to be, but the writing here just didn't pull through for me. I was left with no strong opinion of this story, just that "it was ok". And likely, I'll forget it soon. Nonetheless, background is background.

I really liked learning more about Cal's mother Coraine but I feel so sad about what happened and how it was not found out about.

"Forgive me if I'm surprised."

3.25 stars. This novella just didn't measure up to the rest of the series for me. There was a lot of missed opportunity here, in my opinion. This gave more detail to the Coriane Jacos story but didn't impart new knowledge/insight.

I feel we could have learned a lot more about Coriane, Sara, Julian, Elara, Tiberias the 6th, Anabel - almost anyone from the previous generation. Instead, we got essentially the same information sprinkled throughout the main books, just from Coriane's POV.
