A re-read that I started like 2 years ago ... Embarrassing!
I love this book for a lot of reasons and don't really want to spend the next 30 minutes listing them all, mostly because it's wayy past my bedtime and I have a long trip ahead of me tomorrow.
But trust that the characters and the world building are top-notch, and I am still obsessed with this magic system.
This is like the perfect amount of romance btw

I definitely understand the hype for the Cosmere now. The magic system was awesome. Loved the heist plot. Thoroughly enjoyed our two main POVs in Vin and Kelsier, found family will get me every time.
I will say there were a couple plot points that didn't age well particularly the "romance" between Vin and a secondary character as well as the misogynistic tone of part of Vin's character development and becoming "a true respectable noble lady" focusing on attending balls and dressing up in gowns etc.
Overall, I have zero clue where this series is headed but I'm along for the ride.

the story was great and character were good . the twists were good and the ending was very very good . the only problem for me was that the story slows down on multiple occasions and becomes quite boring . the parts where background information is being given are good .
The book explores a different kind of magic which I thought was interesting! There is a lot of information to take in to understand what is going through so it is not a super light reading in this regard.

My first brandy sandy book, and I do get the hype. It was a bit slow for a while, which is why it only got 4 stars, but the pay off was worth it. I think what stands out is the unique magic system, and the fact that that magic system follows such well laid out/ thought through laws.
