Good Shoes, Fabulous Food, and romance, what's not to love? This is the kind of romance most would wish for because if you and your significant other can stand up to each others parents, deal with Saturday morning baseball games, and have crazy friends it would be the most perfect romance you could ever wish for.

I listen to this book in my audible and i love the narrator!

It’s not a perfect story whatsoever but is a cute romantic adult story.

Just enjoy it as what it is!

This was a fun listen. It reminded me of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days." Also reminded me of Jennifer Weiner's books.

Listening length 11 hr

Very fun and funny story. I really enjoyed Cal and Min’s banter and dynamic. It is very solidly a 2004 novel, the lack of cell phone usage and email is telling. Also the insane amount of diet and fat shaming screams 2004. I think it was handled fairly well, definitely better than some other books, but it is really frustrating reading a book and not being able to escape the nagging internal diet culture.

I never got much of a sense of what Min actually looked like, her body anyway, for how much her body was a focus of lots of the characters. Which is both confusing and good.

for engl 390 - this is what i’m fucking TALKING about !!! this has everything !! a silly, ensemble cast in the style of a shakespearean comedy, enemies to lovers except not really, ongoing jokes that don’t feel forced !!

I finally read one of the original Queens of ChicLit… and it was deliciously witty. Most of the story line held up and it was overall a fun read.

A little too much 90s/00s diet culture reference. Did all the books then have to fat shame like they did?
