I love my “why choose” books. But as soon as the grim reaper showed up, I literally could not keep going. The way the character was introduced was not it. Honestly, the plot had so much potential but it started feeling like bad things were just happening to her to make her a victim to be saved and less of someone who can fight for herself. Also. It’s a self insert. Which in and of itself isn’t bad, but sometimes it’s overdone much like this one.

I really wanted to like it because the cover was so stunning. I did not. It was cheesy. The main character was irritating and went from seeming like one character to another. I didn't know it was supposed to be about zombies, which could have been really interesting. There were certain lines delivered that made my tummy upset - due to secondhand embarrassment. I didn't really care for any character. Not a great time.

So let me start out by saying I like Jane and David as main characters. However, there is SO MUCH going on in this book. Knights and gods and lore....it just feels like a lot and I was so busy trying to keep track of everyone that the plot got a little lost on me.

whiny and repetitive

I had high hopes for the first 1/4 of this book, absolutely gorgeous cover, interesting plot, characters I was hoping would turn out to be badass or relatable. Nope. Only got extremely repetitive and whiny inner dialogue of an annoying FMC with 2 simp boys who were so boring I almost DNF but pushed through because I kept hoping it would get better. It didn’t. Don’t waste your time. Sad about the cover though, it’s so pretty

feel like they were going for “touch her and die” vibes but every single fucking friend was intimately tilting her chin up to comfort her or kissing her forehead after like 2 days, came off super weird.
FMC cried the entire book and had no character development at all
Death was basically a child groomer pedophile, ew.

Just no all around.

There was just too much packed into this. The writing was not great. Zombies, Angels, vampires, wolves and demons. I couldn’t even finish this. Disappointed in how many 5 stars reviews it had.
