I really, really enjoyed this book! I've seen people complaining that it was predictable..was it? Of course but I'm not reading romances for the plot twists

✨ Every Summer After ✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summary
Every Summer After by Carley Fortune is a second-chance romance set against the backdrop of summer memories, lake houses, and the bittersweet passage of time. It follows Persephone Fraser as she revisits her past, her childhood summers, and the boy she once loved.

My Thoughts:
After reading One Golden Summer (which I absolutely adored!), I knew I wanted to read more of Fortune’s work — and this one truly delivered!

This story feels like a nostalgic summer breeze — warm, emotional, and a little heartbreaking. The dual timeline makes it easy to sink into both the past and the present, and I loved how the tension built up slowly. The writing perfectly captures the feeling of being young, reckless, and completely in love, while also exploring the complexities of growing older and facing regrets.

The summer setting is so vivid that it’s easy to picture yourself at the lake, and the chemistry between the characters felt real and beautifully written.

I really enjoyed being back at Barry’s Bay!

I finished this book within a day and really did enjoy it - it’s your classic romance, bit cringey but perfect read on the plane/by the pool.
Percy and Charlie shocked me a tiny bit
so bonus points for that. I’ll definitely be reading the sequel but don’t think it can reach 4 stars just because of the type of book it is. I’m excited to read more of Fortune’s stuff tho - a new romance author to obsess over.
