Carley Fortune must have looked inside my brain before she wrote this. I felt like this book was speaking to me all the way through from the flashbacks of Persephone losing her friends in her tween years due to her awkwardness/differences, to the Polish families in Barry’s Bay (where I have distant polish family relatives), and the anxious panic attacks. Every Summer After takes readers on a trip down memory lane, oscillating between the past, detailing Persephone and Sam’s initial love story, and the present day, with the two rekindling their lost love. I just wish Sue was around to see them find their way back to one another.

it was slower and a bit more tense in comparison to my usual summer romance books but i did enjoy it. the characters seemed very human and that’s always a good thing.
i did pick up on charlie having a thing for Percy and imagined they kissed/did something together but it also makes sense, especially at that age!! sam was also wrong for dealing with his worries and emotions like that and avoiding her all summer. they’re all flawed even though cheating is never the answer

“Betrayals don’t cancel each other out, they just hurt more.”
“I'm still not good enough for him."
"You're good enough," Chantal says.
"But I'm such a mess. And he's a doctor."
"You're good enough," she says again.
"What if he doesn't think so?"
"Then you come home, P. And I'll tell you why he's wrong."
I really enjoyed this book for the most part. Very summer I turned pretty vibes. Didn’t like cheating aspects to it.
