That was absolutely adorable! I highly recommend the audio book narrated by Kate Winslet, it was perfect! I've actually never read Matilda and thought it would be a nice little light audio book to listen to while I was sick and it was.
Listened to the audio read by Kate Winslet. She gives a great performance.

The movie is quite accurate to the book even tho the adaptation added a few stuff to make it more fun, no idea about the musical.
Sometimes I understood Ms Trunchbull and her hate towards children but immediately after she would abuse the child physically and verbally, like how did she even get away with it... Anyway, she's a big bully but gets scared pretty easily.
The kids, damn those can be annoying, especially the pranks.
Fun story, not fan of the art.
If I ever have a kid I wouldn't read this to them, idk I don't think it would be a good influence lol.

I will never forget reading this, "Harriet the Spy" and "Little Women" as a child. Harriet, Matilda and Jo March were my best friends; my fellow outcasts and weirdos. I've shared my love of these characters with my eldest daughter and now that my younger children are growing, it feels good to go back and revisit these wonderful stories. It feels like going home.
An amazing book. Both witty and funny. The head mistress is hilarious and the other characters likeable
♥️ a childhood favorite - it really is so good though!! And I love how similar the movie adaptation is to this book
