Jaaaa, het allerlaatste boek van de gv100. Wat een prachtig boek is dit! Ik had lage verwachtingen omdat ik al iets te veel van Roald Dahl gelezen afgelopen tijd. Maar dit was echt prachtig, veel beter dan de film ook!

If I could give this 100 stars, I would! Why hadn’t I read this sooner?! A wonderful story, beautifully read by Kate Winslet, I’m actually tempted to listen to it again. I love love loved it!

“All the reading she had done had given her a view of life that they had never seen. If only they would read a little… …they would soon discover there was more to life.”

While this book was a little silly and full of mischief it was fun to read the story behind the fun musical I’ve come to love. The story of Matilda stands as a witness to all children who don’t feel seen, love to read, or are treated unfairly. While Matilda doesn’t go about things the way she should - she’s a good friend and she’s loyal and bold. This was a fun quick read and I’m excited to discuss it with my students!

Matilda es un libro muy interesante que tiene como tema principal la paternidad deficiente y el odio a los niños. Matilda, al igual que todos los niños, es increíble. Lo más impresionante es que los niños no se dejan influenciar por las cosas malas que dicen los adultos sobre ellos y cómo son tan fuertes y seguros de sí mismos para hacer que los respeten o darles una lección. 

Tomando el caso de la señorita miel, en la realidad hay muchos casos como este; de personas que fueron terriblemente cuidadas de niños, negándose el acceso a la universidad o si quiera tener una niñez digna en la que se les permitiera comportarse como lo que eran: niños.
Me parece muy triste y cruel, pero también muy real. 

En general, he disfrutado mucho el libro. Tiene algo que te engancha y te hace querer estar pegado a él hasta terminar la historia. Además, los dibujos tan característicos que le da un plus a la experiencia de lectura.
Recomiendo.
