All the people who recommended this lied to me. This book is drier than my elbows

dont hate me but this was extremely mid

I love it. Their love story was amazing and swoon worthy.

It was a cliché story and kind of predictable but I liked it nonetheless. It was one of the few books in which I see some wattpad vibes (not many people’s cup of tea, I know) but it is written more maturely ♥️

Rose has always dreamed of owning her own coffee shop and is so close to opening one in her uncle’s building; until he passes away. In his will it states that the building will be going to Rose’s husband. The only problem is that her fiancé just dumped her. Her uncle’s lawyer, Jack, suggests that she could marry him. She’d get the cafe and he’d get the building.

I remember years ago when this book was what everyone was reading. I hated the original cover, but decided to finally read this when I found this cute cover. Marriage of convenience is always something in a book I enjoy and this proved that point again.

With their names being Jack and Rose, you can’t help but ship them together. Jack is the typically grumpy and broody mmc. He always noticed the little things, and he’s definitely an actions over words type of guy. I really liked how Jack supported Rose from the beginning with her cafe and always doing the little things to help her out. Rose is literally living the dream marrying Jack and getting her cafe with books. I will say that I think Rose is a character some people will love and some will find annoying at times.

This is over 500 pages and I feel like with this one you see their relationship really progress and grow in those pages. The only thing is, I felt like for 500 pages there would be more tension built between Jack and Rose which I wasn’t feeling.
