❝ Your heart has a home with me, Rose. No matter what, never forget that.
And yours will always have a home with me. Certain people are meant for each other and you were meant for me, Jack. And I was meant for you.❞
⸝⸝⸝ So mad i didn’t read this earlier, such a great romance.

In this book we follow Jack and Rose in their instant marriage (to help Rose get her dream coffee shop) where they fake being completely in love to make it more believable. Where Jack is a super grumpy lawyer-type guy, Rose is adorable and pretty bubbly considering everything she has been through in life and we get to see them as they unwillingly develop feelings for one another, especially after Jack completes all these small gestures such as bringing her flowers every week, helping her decorate, and being there for her during her panic attacks, MRI scans and surgeries (adorable and made me cry too) and we see that they both have it bad and joy is given when they decide to give it a go for real. It is later revealed, by her ex-fiance Jordan, that Jack had paid him to break things off with her, which I kind of clocked on to anyway, and so they take a break as it is best for both of them to think things over (meanwhile Jack tells her why he did it - Jordan is a prick who was only in it for the property and money - and also waits outside the coffee shop in the cold and snow until her other employees turn up at work) and the two soon talk things over and come up with their five year plans, agreements, and feelings admissions which was so cute and heartwarming, exactly what I needed.

The only reason I am not giving this five stars is because at times, I wished the romance element would hurry (although now looking back I love the slower burn that we got) and also because I called the truth of what Jack did (paying off Jordan) pretty early on and that sense of miscommunication is something I am not a huge fan of in books and I think it could have been even more wholesome and emotional if he had told her earlier on. Other than that I absolutely adored this book and the characters and the build ups and I want my very own Jack Hawthorne because his grumpiness and softness combined is just amazing. I also really liked Rose and how determined she was to follow her dreams and take charge of her own life, whilst also trying to get Jack to open up from the very start of the book. Exactly. Loved it. Also the hospital scenes? Made me cry.

Marriage For One - Ella Maise

5/5 ⭐️

Y’all, sheeeeeshhhh this book was addictive. I picked it up when I got in bed thinking I’d read like 10 pages, lol next thing I know it’s been 4 hours, it’s 3 am and I’m done with the book. This has every dang trope, it’s marriage of convenience, slow burn, takes care of her when she’s sick, grumpy x sunshine, the whole shebang. And I ate it up, let me tell you. I am obsessed with Jack, actually obsessed with how much he’s obsessed with rose. This book just really reminded of why I love reading so much, and how much I I love it. Everything about this book was just perfect, and their connection is so sweet!

Synopsis:
Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office-which was also the first day we met-he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him-a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable-would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right?

Nope. It was me he asked. A complete stranger who had never even heard of him. A stranger who had been dumped by her fiancé only weeks before.

It took him only minutes to talk me into a business deal…erm, I mean marriage, and only days for us to officially tie the knot. It was the worst day. Jack Hawthorne was nothing like what I'd imagined for myself.
I blamed him for my lapse in judgment.

It wasn't long after he said I was the biggest mistake of his life that things started to change. No, he still didn't talk much, but anyone can string a few words together. His actions spoke the loudest to me. And day after day my heart started to get a mind of its own.

One second he was no one. The next he became everything.
One second he was unattainable. The next he seemed to be completely mine.
One second I thought we were in love. The next it was still nothing but a lie.

To be honest, the only thing that I didn’t like was that I was a little bit confused about why Jack did what he did, I feel like the explanation just didn’t make that much sense.
But anyways, READ THIS BOOK, for some reason it’s giving me wall of Winnipeg and me vibes, and everything about it is immaculate.

Great fake marriage book! Love the pining and confusion. I would die for Jack and Rose.

I adored Jack and Rose's romance and their journey together, but beyond their relationship, I felt like their backgrounds were underdeveloped. I craved more insight into their individual struggles. Jack's home life, in particular, seemed glossed over, leaving much to my imagination. This story might appeal to fans of slow-burn romances or marriage-of-convenience tropes. However, I thought the narrative could have been condensed by about 50 pages.

Myślę, że Jack potrzebuję wizyty u jakiegoś specjalisty, jednak i tak go uwielbiam
