I fell in love with these characters and story sooo fast. Rose and Jack were so cute and the trope was written very well.

4.5 Stars!
So sweet and funny. I really loved the five year negotiations during the epilogue.

Nice premise, terrible ending or explanation for lying to her, felt like forced conflict. Liked the characters but didn't feel like them getting together after this huge betrayal and invasion of her privacy was realistic or romantic.

Delayed this read for so long because I’m averse to books with real men on the cover, and I am ashamed because Jack deserved me reaching him earlier.

This book is basically a diary on someone whose love language is acts of service, and we are just merely basking in the swoonworthy ways Jack chooses to take care of Rose.

Rose is a cute and forward oversharer who goes for what she wants and wears her heart on her sleeves (without being unlikeable which is a feat). My favourite part about her is that she doesn’t drag out the does he like me does he not nonsense. Good for her!!

Jack is very underrated. This is dual POV and we know the mind of a brooding man is the best place to be. Ok actually he was broody for like 5 mins but whatever, he’s more gruff? But also sarcastic, and caring. And a man of action! Literal rolling up of sleeves (hot!) to help Rose out kinda guy.

I love the whole aspect of him taking care of her and her letting him do so. And excuse me? Their short texts?! More romantic than any texts I’ve ever sent (and I once sent quotes from the notebook, word for word).

Mini spoiler
I actually like that Rose didn’t give him a hard time after finding out what Jack did, it matched the magnitude of the conflict. And her being the one to approach it?! Wonderful.

This book is sweet and swoony. Don’t expect a heavy plot, the synopsis pretty much explains it all. But do expect to question yourself on whether or not gruff lawyers are suddenly your type.

*2.5
I did skim a lot, because it is a pretty long new adult book (in terms of what I'm usually used to with the genre), so there were parts that I wasn't that interested in. But the parts that I did read, I really enjoyed. The premise intrigued me, and it gave me the angsty (contemporary) romance I needed.
