I've tried to finish this book so many times but I just couldn't so I switched the audible version of it to follow through. This book is one of my first in the world of slow burn romances and I guess they're just not for me.
I just couldn't connect to the characters or their story.

- i was supposed to read this in like oct/nov but i got intimidated by the 500 smth pages (it was aksh 866 pages on my phone but wtv) but aft reading the unravel me trilogy i was like omg ez,, i can do this uhm,,, it felt much longer than unravel me,, idk if it was j because i wasnt reading the whole day or just as much in general but like,, it felt kinda long
- i think tiktok very much so overhyped this book and going into it after reading a book i thought was 5 star was very much overwhelming
- irrelevant to the rating but like i so could not picture him or her,,, like i read the whole book and i still dunno what they look like,,,
- grumpy sunshine but he was kinda rude sa start so like im rlly grateful for d character development
- idk i like jack naman but i dont love him ykwim and sometimes the stuff rose would say id be like where tf this come from
- tbh it was j a meh book that i think couldve been done in so much less pages

I have seen this book on so many “best of” lists so I was rather disappointed. I think I would have had a better reaction if it hadn’t been so hyped. There were aspects that were compelling but my main 2 issues:
1) I think it should have been labeled and leaned in as a dark / stalker romance.
2) It needed better editing throughout. There were issues with timeline (X would happen, “the next week we did such and such…”, then “the day after X”) and continuity (she broke her phone and later the same day the phone worked) that took me out of the story.

I’m unsure why this one girl I follow raved so hard about this one. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood set but it didn’t do it for me. I liked the couple and the sx was good, but the writing lacked a bit for me. And there was no need for this to be almost 500 pages
