loved!
Not sure what took me so long to read this book- it’s been on my kindle for the longest time. But I’m really glad I finally got around to reading it. This book was really special. I loved Jack and Rose.

Was this book perfect? Absolutely not. It is still getting those 5 stars from me. I ate it up.
It wasn’t bad, but it was about 30-50% too long, and I know it’s pedantic of me, but it bothered me every time Jack said (or worse, wrote) “gonna” instead of “going to.” It just didn’t mesh with his personality and jolted me out of the story every time it happened.
I’m DNFing at 40%. I’m sad to be DNFing because I had high hopes for this book but it really does not live up to the standard of other Ella Maise books.
I honestly don’t have much positive things to say on this book. Jack was a super boring character and the reasoning for Jack and Roses marriage was the stupidest thing ever. Rose agreeing was stupid. Jack didn’t give a proper business proposal just “marry me and you’ll get what you want”.

Where do I even start with this one? I binge-read it some nights, while on others, I struggled to connect with the characters. I kept trying to understand the story's starting point, but I don’t know, it was a weird fascination with Jack’s motives that kept me going.
This book is nothing like what I’ve read from Maise before, which might be why I felt conflicted while turning the pages.
It’s a bit cheesy for my taste, a bit odd with the pacing, and a little too intense for me. However, it does have grumpy vibes, fake dating, a ‘he falls first’ trope, family drama, and dual POV.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I think after The Favor, this has to be my favorite marriage of convenience book. Good lord. Jack Hawthorne was gorgeous!!! The way this man had me in a chokehold! And I really enjoyed Rose too, except maybe she says “Jack” way too many times, it was kind of getting on my nerves. Slooooooowwwww burn and the spice starts after like 75% of the book but for the first time I loved it! Didn’t even feel like it took time because of their banter and how they were with each other. What a grump. UGH LOVE IT SO MUCH
