I read this on recommendation from someone whose opinion I trust, and while I adore that person, I did not in any way adore this book. I'm going to spoiler cut my complaints because they're mostly spoilery...

Spoiler
First, this was about 4 times too long. Everything was drawn out and almost nothing was explained. For example, how did Rose get this mysterious illness? And why the fuck did she never do anything about it until now? And why was so much time paid to it when, in the end, it did nothing to move the plot forward? Jack was always having secret conversations/texts/emails with people that never got explained, even in the end when he was explaining his treachery, everything was was still vague and weird.

The writing was so overdrawn and repetitive. Every chapter could have been shorter. The same conversations between Rose and Jack happened over and over.

When are we going to all agree that stalking IS NOT FUCKING ROMANTIC?! This is shitty, problematic behavior and I hate it so much. But it's cool because he LOOOOOOOVES her. NO THANKS. He stalked her for a year, tricked her into marrying him, his assistant knew about the entire thing, and yet no one was like "hey bro maybe this is a bad idea?" I hate it so much.

Why don't romance heroines have female friends they can talk to? Why don't have emotional support systems? Oh right, so no one can tell them their love interest is a creepy asshole. Again, thanks I hate it.

Lastly, if it takes you to 82% to have sex in a romance novel, you're doing romance novels all wrong.

Enjoyed this one, and that cover is a verrrrrrryyyyy nice view;)

Once you go to law school, your mind never recovers (LMAO), and tbh, the plot felt a little corny to me in the sense that the whole husband clause probably could've been avoided, but either way, the relationship between Rose&Jack was ADORABLE!!

Definitely recommend if you love a good slow burn :)

3.5 stars

I read this book because so many people raved about it and how

“Rose? I’m not your goddamn alarm.” Provoking her and watching her reactions was probably one of my favorite things in life at the moment.

Marriage for one is about Jack and Rose two strangers who agreed to get married. She gets to have her dream coffee shop and he gets a wife for social gathering plus he owns the building where her coffee shop is.

Marriage of convenience is alway fun to read about, and for the most part i really ejoyed this book. Rosa and Jack are so damm cute with eachother. The way she counts his smiles, tries to engage him in conversation, him helping around the coffee shop, bringen her flowers How Jack always tried to hold himself back but failed almost always. Their banter and dry humor was perfect for me. I was having a great time, until they got togheter, it was sweet the way he took care of her and how they leaned on eachother.

it was still cute and sweet but nothing really happend after that. The were togheter and that was it. We get a bit of their "conflict" which last about for a chapter and then we re back to being sweet again. I don't have a problem with slow burn where there isn;t much plot other that two people falling for eachother but i wanted a bit more outside them. The whole book we just spend it with them, not with their friends or familys because they don't really have any. which makes it a bit boring to me.

aside from the last 20/30 % of the book I did really enjoy it. I recomand this for people are okay with not much plot and just following two people falling slowly in love with eachother.

Rating: 2.5 stars.

3.5 stars. Way too long. Cute slow burn.

I just really fucking hate third act break ups

Zero plot. Insufferable main character. Jail.

I did not expect to find so many things in this that rubbed me the wrong way, I guess this is just confirmation that her books are not enjoyable for me

I've been meaning to read this book for years and I finally got to it!

It was exactly what I expected it to be, a great marriage of convenience romance. I loved that their names were Jack and Rose.
