Marriage for One

Ella Maise

3.75 AVERAGE

This was 110% one of the greatest books I’ve ever read.
I pretty much went into this blind aside from knowing it was a marriage of convenience & I regret nothing.

The slow burn, tension, sweet, pure love, romance, and humor in this book was literally PERECT. I got butterflies and heart palpitations and cried and all the things

It was okay.
I really wanted to like it more than I do and now I'm sad about it :( it's not that this book isn't good. I think it's just that the writing and the characters just didn't grab onto me. It was sweet and wonderful and very romantic but maybe my cold dead heart made it hard for me to appreciate sweet things.

*gives all possible stars* I mean this book was just like the culmination of everything I love about the fake marriage trope. I mean there was basically everything that I wanted from a romance novel in this one book and I’m honestly so speechless. I knew very early on it had 5 star potential. And now it is one of my favorite books of the whole year! I mean truly truly this book was like the perfect book for me. Also, the authors pacing was the best I’ve probably ever seen for the time span and events happening I could have imagined. It was so good I thought about it often while reading that she just did a perfect job. This book is just so good wow.

So glad I re read this even though I just read it in December. This book will forever be a favorite because it was just fantastic. Honestly I love both of these characters and their relationship so much. I will never understand how this doesn’t have a higher rating because it was just done so well. There is no part of this I didn’t love.

Did I re-read this again within six months of reading it last? Yes. Because it is one of my favorite books ever and I could re read it again right now. This is just everything. I love all of this book. Rose and Jack will forever have my heart and this book will always be a favorite worth re-reading at every chance.

No thoughts just that this remains a perfect book that is an absolute favorite. I’m 100% a simp for this book.

This is grumpy-sunshine trope and business marriage or whatever. But was this too much grumpy and too much sunshine? No. Was this an insult to grumpy ppl(like ME) by making the later too much grumpy then so, so much soft and cute and consider to "their sunshine"? No. Was this the stereotype stupid sunshine? No. Did I like it and found the chars written so good for once? Yes.
I liked it, a lot. It didn't provoke me, it was a good experience. And I was eating the book, it had been a long time since I reached even 80 page per day, let alone 100 and more.
And I think the chars were written so so good, like rlly good. Cuz everyone seems to love to write intj×enfp and in my opinion humiliate the intj, or the grumpy man always. And she didn't, she didn't humiliate him guys, yaaaay!! And Rose weren't too much happiness or cute or that fucking shit. So congrats girl, u did it. U made me love this book. But just a small thing, just small. I wish it was a lil but shorter, just a lil.
And I don't think the smut was cheap or that bad or too much or they fucked out of no where or w a cheap excuse like "oh just one night stand" "oh I just want to blow off some steam". (But again, I'm a virgen, sooo... Maybe I'm wrong).
But thx for the good experience anyway.

I really enjoyed this book & the storyline was great. Marriage of Convenience w/a secret subplot that you will catch on to pretty fast.

The banter was probably my favorite part about this book. The hero, Jack, is very self preserved and doesn’t display his emotions. The heroine, Rose, is the opposite. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is a talker—damn does she talk. But it worked. I looooved the slowburn & the spicy scenes made it worth it. They both transformed into two different people during those scenes and I am here for it

Jack and Rose had a cute, slow-burn, marriage of convenience, love story. It was cute, that's it. Nothing that really stood out for me. I felt like towards the end, there was a lot of dialogue that felt very tell, not enough show. I felt like the way that they got out of their conflict was also, really convenient and fell a little flat for me. I don't know, it's good, I guess?

i didn’t like the first couple of chapters but the rest of it was really good. i’m a sucker for fake marriage tropes. i loved their relationship dynamic. i like that they have their own internal issues but it’s not the center of the story, although i wish his distance from his parents was talked about a little more. i really enjoyed it.

This was so long! I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I don't know if I really liked Jack and Rose was just okay.
