This is unexpectedly bad. The twist is made for readers not to possibly know who's the perpetrator. The denouement wasn't build well. Almost three-quarter of the book points to two suspects, and then the end would point to that person? This was poorly done.

I have been meaning to read one of KL Slater’s books for aaages, after seeing many great reviews for them over the last couple years, and I am so glad I finally got round to it - because I loved this book!

It drew me in right from page one, which for some reason has been rare for me lately, kept me rapt the whole time and managed to get even better later on.

I meant to go to sleep early last night but made the mistake of starting this after dinner.... worth it!

Good book, just didn’t keep my focus like I wanted it to.

I'm gonna be honest, this book left much to be desired. The twist was certainly a twist, but I feel a rather predictable twist. Plus the climax where the "evil plot" is explained is very stereotypical. Especially since both of their deaths happened within moments by Ms. Watson, who apparently gained super strength after being incredibly weak.
I give the book a 2 star instead of a 1, simply because the begining was very interesting. That being said however, I never felt like this was a confusing or thrilling mystery. While it ended up not being the suspects I had in mind, the actual person who kidnapped Evie seemed incredibly underdeveloped with very stereotypical motives.

I don’t even know where to start with this book.
I want to take it and scream from the rooftops. I want to make everyone I know read a copy. I want to knock on doors and leave this book in mailboxes.

If you can’t tell, I LOVED Blink by K.L Slater.

Enthralling, fast-paced and dark, Blink provided all the elements I need to be sucked completely into a book. I read this one into the night, I left the book open on my bed so I could try and absorb more as I slept.

The novels I end up loving the most have alternating narrators whose plots blend together effortlessly: Blink does exactly that. The novel opens with a woman narrating in a coma. She is unable to move but can hear and process everything. People are discussing turning her ventilator off. She cannot tell them she is there. All she can do is relive, over and over, when Evie went missing. Flash back three years; Toni is raising her daughter Evie alone after her husband died in active duty in Afghanistan. Coping with pills, Toni is doing the best she can to piece her life back together. A teacher’s aide, Harriet, narrates sections as she manipulates little Evie. All of these seemingly unrelated tales collide with a bang, and when they do, hold on to your seats!

Nothing is what it seems in Blink; if you want a hair-raising thriller, then look no further. Blink is a must read. 5/5 stars.
