After the last book I was hoping for a story with Aulay or Murine soon, and maybe even the two together but having read this one I really like Murine and Dougall together! Murine is a great heroine and I love how clever she is. I’m hoping in the next few books to get stories about Aulay or Conran now, and basically can’t stop until I’ve finished the series.

loved
I had forgotten about Murine's tendency to faint, sometimes it was just hilarious. but then when it would have been a good thing, she didn't. it shocked everyone.
As weak as she seems, she is so brave and strong.
Dougall, well he's your typical Highlander hero!
Everything about this book is wonderful, and keeps you interested in reading.
*I received my copy from edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

Decent read if you fancy some highlander romance with a dash of mystery/suspense.

So I won an advanced copy of this one, so that does mean I read it out of order. But I'm a huge Lynsay Sands fan, and if you like historical romance she is the writer for you! Murine has had a pretty horrible two years. After loosing both parents, two full brothers and two half brothers along with her rightful inheritance and home, you could say that she doesn't have anything left to loose. You would be wrong because her remaining half brother Montrose decides to rent her out like a pimp in exchange for two horses (because he gambled his own away to the King of England). Luckily, he decides to trade her to a Scotsman who owes her a favor for saving his sister's life who helps to keep her safe through a series of disasters. Dougall realizes that the only way to keep Murine safe is to marry her and figure out who is trying to kill her. If you like a lot of adventure to go with a cute romance, this is a great romp!
