I loved this one. I always love a strong FMC especially in an era where it’s not as common. She’s trying to escape her crap of a brother and made a solid effort. She didn’t want to be rescued but she was anyhow. It’s almost comical how she try’s to refuse help because she wants to do it on her own, but it’s also a bit annoying at times. The romance that develops is fast but fun with all the banter between the 2. Definitely an enjoyable read!

What a fun story! Despite some severe lapses in judgement on her part, Murine was caring and brave but not obstinate or irritating. Dougall was the most perfect mix of protective with a little possessiveness and he just goes hard on the caretaking. Enjoyable all around.

this started off really well and then the villain just...never arrived? felt like i kept waiting for the villain to show up, only for them to be present in like the last 5-10% of the book. denouement felt really rushed too.
