THE GOOD: I loved the disability representation in this. I loved that Bo was attentive and sympathetic even though he didn't understand what Win was going through. I loved Sarah and Caleb and their friendship with Win and the banter between all the characters was so good. And I loved that the book was set in Canada. I really liked the epilogue, too.

THE BAD: The story is only told from Win's POV and I feel like it would have been even better if we had Bo's POV, too. I also felt that the middle dragged a bit.

Favourite quote: "You are my soul's purpose, Win. To know you, to love you, to build a family with you, to spend every day taking care of you, to watch you shine and get all the good things you deserve out of this life."

If I had to sum up this book in one word, it would be “wholesome” 🥹

Bo and Win meet at a friend’s Halloween party. Both are dressed as pirates, one with a wooden leg and one with an hook for a hand, a nod to their respective limb differences. They have what is meant to be a one night stand. However, an accidental pregnancy results. I loved the mature way they handled this, the way Bo was determined to support Win but on her terms. I thought their limb differences - his due to cancer and hers since birth - were well integrated into the plot, showing how both characters worked with and around their disabilities rather than being limited by them. Win’s fears about how she would manage the baby care felt realistic. I also loved their friends, the way Win worked towards a career goal with Bo’s support, their banter, and the steam - mostly. A couple of times it did feel a little cringey. When I picked this up I was after something fun and light but with some substance and this book delivered.

Oh my god. Bo. That’s it. That’s the tweet. I am obsessed with these two. This book is sweeter than candy and I ate it the fuck up.

I think Bo is the absolute most perfect book boyfriend ever. he’s so sweet, every time he’d do something nice for Win.. i’d think “okay he can’t get better”.. then he’d do exactly that. i really just loved this so much. the banter between these two was so heartwarming, and i feel like no one mentions how hilarious they are, i was literally laughing out loud one chapter and crying the next.
