I have found a new series to read and I am so excited! Maisie Dobbs is an excellent lead character and I am eager to read the next book.

Great little detective novel. Well-written, and a great book to pick up and put down.

I just don't know about this one. I can't decide if the writing is overwrought or poetic; derivative or nostalgic; cloying or wistful. It left me wondering if I would like future books...which tells me I most likely won't. Thanks for letting me work out my feelings... on to other series.

Such a sad and somber tone to this book set as it is in the years after World War I.

So glad I finally made my way to this series that so many had recommended. Intrigue and history and psychology intertwine. A good read, for sure.
