This book didn't really capture my interest when I first started it. I actually didn't like one of the main characters, MJ for most of the book. I just wanted to shout get your shit together. What kept me interested was reading the letters from the founders of the DBC. Their stories were interesting and often tied into something the younger members of the DBC were dealing with. I also liked that not everything ended up exactly as I thought it would. I do enjoy an ending that is not totally predictable.

The Dirty Book Club by Lisi Harrison is a great summer read. The book is centered around M.J who leaves her job after getting snubbed for a promotion to live with her boyfriend on the west coast. There she meets Gloria, her elderly neighbor, who gives her and invitation to a secret book club. The book is heartfelt and warm. The pacing was great and I was always interested in what was going on. This is a great beach read.

I received this book as a good reads giveaway. I really enjoyed the premise of this novel. I liked the way the author was able to combine the past and present in to a fluid themed novel. I enjoyed reading this book and think it would appeal to anyone who likes contemporary fiction.

Very cute, sharp book with unexpected twists. I genuinely giggled at some of the quotes! Thoroughly enjoyable, lighter read.

Quick, easy read.

I needed this book! Such a cozy story of the "joys" of navigating friends and life. I appreciate my few friends and I get how hard making and keeping friends can be. I love how this book portrayed the realities of this journey as women!

All these authors forget to put any actual characters in their books.

Super light, easy book but still with some things to think about

It took me less than two hours to read this one because I truly enjoyed it - and I'm an obscenely quick reader. I wonder how my life would be if I had female friends like these.
