This book was OK and a quick read. The blurb says there's a web of lies and long-hidden secrets that are uncovered and I think that might be a bit of literary hyperbole. There is not much at all in the way of long-hidden secrets.

This is a book about a family that suffers a tragedy, but also a book where not much at all happens. I finished it feeling vaguely unsatisfied.

It’s depressing all the way through and did not feel very redeeming at the end.

3.5 There was a lot to like here. Based on a true story, different side of the WWII saga, great setting....My biggest complaint was with the ending. Sigh.
