Buddy Read with the MacHalo group.
This book was decent… I didn’t really feel like I learned much about who the characters were. It was all about their current thoughts and emotions.
The dystopian/zombie story was also ok. I did not feel that connected to the characters, and I feel bad saying this but I didn’t really care what happened to them.
I was a bit put off by Daniel's instalove, which was literally instant love/desperation at first sight.
I get why she went for it, I mean she was lucky enough to be rescued by not just one but two gorgeous men. I never really understood why both of them found her irresistible.
In general, I do not get much from ménages but the decision to bring in Finn made sense given the dangerous situation they were in. He was already jealous and speculating fighting Daniel over her, so for both their protection he needed to feel invested in their little group. The sex was pretty hot too.
I did like that Finn & Daniel decided to go against their instincts to protect Ali all the time and allow her some freedom when she wanted it.

I understand when they were alone, but once they reached the settlement? In general, I do not get much from ménages but the decision to bring in Finn made sense given the dangerous situation they were in. But why the hell do they want babies so soon???????? PLUS in a freaking dangerous dystopian area. For this I present one of my favorite gifs:caryambler's review against another edition

If it weren't for the instalove, this would've been a 4 or 5 star book.

The world building was quite … limited. Not a big fan of insta love or the pregnancy trope at the end
Graphic: Misogyny and Gun violence

Not my favorite setting but it's not horrible and I went at this with an open mind not to judge until I read it, with that being said, I guess I'm not a fan of the whole zombie plot it just doesn't catch my interest all that much

Hit about the 80% mark before an obvious rape scene was served up to me as if I might find it sexy? Is this what I have to look forward to wanting to read more erotica?
Spoiler
The main character is emotional after an event just traumatized her, and one of her men is pinning her down with the weight of his entire body and forcibly fingering her as she says "no, stop" A LOT of times. What's worse is her voyeuristic other boyfriend not only doesn't help but tells her he's staying out of it because she's clearly trying to pick a fight (?) by having feelings (?!). I can't make this shit up. It's there. It's all there, plain as all get out, not subtle, not just maybe problematic. There's nothing debatable here. Tell anyone this exact thing happened in real life and they would be horrified, but because it's served up to readers with rape fantasies it's ok? Write and read consensually negotiated CNC scenes to get off instead of tolerating this shit, because it is HARMFUL.pamgodwin's review against another edition

Don't read this for the world-building or thrilling sci-fi suspense. There is none. The plot IS the romance and the zombies are a just a stinky, moaning distraction from the MFM hanky-panky. In fact, the overall tone is light and playful. Despite the abundance of flirting and sex, it's light on the menage and not infected by vulgarity. Add to that imaginative writing, and you've got a wild cocktail of erotic, gory fun.

I never thought I'd tag something with both zombies and erotic. I found this book ridiculously fun. The threesome actually made sense in the context and came about in a way that seemed plausible. The heroine was smart and strong, despite her belief that she was rabbit-hearted.
