A riveting read!!! Philosophical, Dramatic, Gutwrenching and Sexy with a pinch of sarcasm, this book is basically an essay on trust and betrayal with really captivating characters and some really terrific smut.
It's a darker romance than I usually gravitate to (especially with the unexpected knife play!) But it's easily balanced out by the genuine trust the main characters feel for each other.

I really wanted to love this, but I just couldn't connect to it at all. It has the foundation for a really cool and unique story but I wish there was more fleshing out with the plot and its characters. I truly didn't care for a single person in this book lol.
The first interaction between the MCs was amazing and I really enjoyed it but they go from being enemies to lovers within a chapter, 0-100. I understand lust coming into play but they kinda fell for each other really quickly and I honestly didn't even understand why considering they barely know each other...
The kingdoms were interesting concepts but like I said, I wish they were fleshed out more and given more of a showing rather than telling treatment. Same with Elma. I really wanted to love her but she just fell flat to me and didn't really do much until the last couple chapters.
Overall, I think there's great potential in this story and the actual writing was pretty good but it's definitely missing some pieces!
