This series has been 5 stars from start to finish! I loved Rio and Hallie. These sweet souls really were a perfect match. I loved seeing their love story reignite in real time and how it paralleled with their past. Hallie was a grounding force for Rio, his home. Rio is a caretaker, his love for Hallie is so ingrained in his being that everything he does is an act of live and affection. This second chance romance was so well done. While what broke them apart was traumatic, it was really caused by outside forces so their reunion was really rewinding to pick right where they left off. As always, the found family in this series is top tier! I adore this group and loved seeing them rally around our Rio. Hallie just fit right in with everyone- further proof that she is the one for him. I definitely recommend this for the second chance girlies!

Rio and Hallie completely stole my heart. I’ve absolutely loved everything Liz Tomforde has written, so I had no doubt she’d find a way to make one of my least favorite tropes—second chance romance—feel fresh and meaningful. And she totally did.
This story was such a beautiful take on healing. It showed how time can help soothe some wounds, but others require us to really face them, through hard, honest conversations, especially with the people we love (and probably always will).
What stuck with me most was how they never truly gave up on each other, no matter how much life or circumstance tried to pull them apart. The connection between them was just that strong.
I could go on and on about all the things I loved, but honestly, I have no notes. It was the perfect ending to the Windy City series, and exactly the kind of emotional, full-circle story I didn’t know I needed.

Loved this series, and so sad it’s over, but this final book just didn’t hit for me in the same way that the others did. Rio felt like a different character than in previous books, and Hallie was harder to connect with. Also the pacing and timeline of this book felt like the flashbacks dragged in out so that the current timeline had to be rushed. Still highly recommend the series tho!

This is what I needed because finally the characters do not go through an unjustified breakup 80% through the story but the worst is already over

rio mf deluca!!!!! watching him grow from a boy to man throughout not only this series, but this book was one of the most beautiful parts of this world. him and hallie’s story was a kidney x gut x KO punch- absolutely painful. but like in the best way. i love them and how intricate their connection, relationship and HEA was. this has been one of the only second chance romance x dual timeline that i absolutely obsessed over. the microtropes in this one hit all the vibe checks!!!
ps: THE RYAN MOMENT AT THE END HAD ME SOBBING
megan wicks and conner crais duet narration was the best way to round out this perfectly imperfect family. i cannot recommend this series enough!!!
