I was in a book slump and and my coworker recommended me this book. I was addicted to Lennon and Phoenix's story from the start.

I could relate to Lennon with the high school bullies, the self esteem issues and and the scars that all of that can leave behind even when we are now adults. I am not normally into rock star romances but I just loved the characters in this book and cannot wait to read Skylar and Memphis's story.

Phoenix as a the leading man was a roller coaster for me. In the beginning I was rooting for him. In the middle he was getting on my nerves but by the end I fell in love with him and was so proud of how he turned out.

I don't want to give any spoilers because I really think this book was so worth the read and it makes me want to read more from the author, Ashley Jade.

In regards to the spice, it was hot and spicy. The chemistry between Lennon and Phoenix was intense and the enemy to lovers aspect added to it. Sex after fighting is always good thing... hahaha.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and advise them that it is a rollercoaster of emotions.

THE BEST contemporary romance I’ve read. I laughed, I cried (A LOT), I loved every second of it. The many plot lines just weaved into an incredible story about love, loss, grief, and learning to love yourself. Wow. Just wow.

3,5 ⭐️ eu não conseguia parar de ler depois dos 20% mas como sempre é um romance contemporâneo NÃO PRECISA SER TÆO LONGO NUNCA.

TRIGGERS: body dysmorphia, fatphobia, food related/eating disorder, domestic abuse.

NO GROVEL.

Also, the character HAD to lose weight to be "beautiful."

Problematic as fuck...

REVIEW:

We simply do not need this type of heroine as a society.

We need to evolve as a people!

I could not stand her. She is a doormat, tragically insecure, no self-worth, disgusting as a character.

I could not enjoy this story because the heroine had no backbone, never even attempted to follow up on whatever "revenge" she planned to take, and let the hero walk all over her, after he absolutely fked her over, stole from her, and left her in the dust.

I simply cannot read about pathetic heroines. It is not a good influence on me, my mental health, and does not make me feel good.

And as a reader, I read to FEEL good.

This story had so much potential, could have taken some sharp turns because it was an interesting premise. There were so many ways this heroine could have been a badass who kicked ass and took names, but no, this book ignored them all.

Alas the heroine was so pathetic, I was cringing the whole fking time.

It is a shame...

As for the hero, he did his job as the antagonist of this story, so he was great, but the author could have done way more with that tension.

So many opportunities wasted.

Ok nomchhhh
Pretty good
A wonderful respite from the dismal situations I have been finding myself in
Idk if I should start the Skylar and Memphis book now tho bc the second half is coming out in august and I’m just gonna forget everything that happens
But I’m also gonna have forgotten all the characters by August anyways

Anywho not bad
Idk what to say
Idk why the author was so adamant about no Quinn and Storm book when she set it up
Like ok do what you will but why set them up like that

First half was good but then it dwindled.
Lennon and Phoenix. She’s a plus size girl, he’s an a-hole in a band.
She basically writes a song and he steals it, breaks her heart and leaves on tour.
4yrs later his manager begs her to be his babysitter coz she’s getting into too much trouble. Yeah, like this was gonna be a good idea.
Phoenix is treats Lennon like crap and he just doesn’t redeem himself. I needed to see more of his sweet and sensitive side.
Lennon put up with way too much, she really shouldn’t have given him so many chances.
This was angsty but it just didn’t hit hard enough for me. The story was lacking and character development too.
