Phoenix is the biggest red flag, but Lennon can come out for Margs.

What a ride!
So, now that I've finished this, I looked over reviews, and some of my suspicions have been validated. This book forged ahead and maintained a grittier rock star realism in this era of no tolerance for OW/OM drama. I personally don't get all feral over OW/OM, I don't think it's necessary per se, but I do think it can be done right, and the truth is people are shitty, fuckery happens.
Access to Excess leads to overindulgent behaviour and poor boundaries. Musicians aren't typically retiring to their rooms to knit scarves.
Also, given that this is meant to be an 'enemies to friends to enemies to lovers', the dramatic toxic antics made sense within the context. I did this as an audiobook, and had another actress performed the role of Lennon, I would have enjoyed some of her internal monologues a bit more. It eventually started to get a little repetitive and overwrought, and she would have me rolling my eyes sometimes. I also wish there were more chapters written in Phoenix's POV, but that's just me.
The ending felt abrupt and rushed; some of the middle of this book could have been paired down, and efforts diverted to fleshing out the ending a little more.
If a different female narrator had been cast in the other two books in this universe, I would have read them as well, but I cannot endure more

Decent story, I mostly enjoyed it, but a) it was longer than necessary, and b) there were a lot of sex scenes that started out with very dubious consent, which ruined it for me. Just because both parties ended up enjoying the acts doesn't excuse the way they started - usually with the MMC initiating/forcing something on the FMC when she either couldn't consent (there's one scene in which she wakes up to find another girl eating her out because the guy told her to, like???????) or had previously insisted she wouldn't sleep with him only to give in to him. It sets a bad example/precedent for anyone reading this who doesn't recognize it for what it is. Girls, it's not okay for a guy to force you to have sex just because he wants to.

I wanted to love this book, but the pacing felt off. Especially considering how long this book was.
The conflict between the MCs drug on for too much of the book while the resolution happened much too quickly. Said resolution(read Phoenix sharing that Lennon wrote the song publicly) should have happened with about 20% of the book left. Then we could have seen more of Lennon’s fight with the record company, Lennon and Phoenix’s relationship, etc. Instead it all felt very rushed in the last few chapters.
Also, I need a second book that wraps up the stories of Skylar, Quinn, Memphis, and Storm. We saw so much of them in this book to get no resolution to their storylines.
