I should probably rate this a 3 star, but I'm feeling generous. This book was so long, y'all. I mean, it was good and I could NOT stop reading, but the amount of emotional torment packed into this book seemed endless.

It was practically perfect for what it was, a dark, smutty romance. BUT, I really wished the power dynamic had been a bit different. I wish that Lennon had taken her singing career when Phoenix abandoned her and then kicked his ass all the way across the stage, but instead the author made her this quiet, broken, cringy girl. It is a pity.

Anyway, if you were expecting anything other than a total shitshow of sex, drugs, and alcohol, this is not the book for you. However, it was a great example of its genre and an interesting story to boot. Not the best romance I've ever read. Not the best story. But I finished it and it made me cry, so for that it's a solid 3.5.

“Don’t let your insecurities overpower that which makes your soul come alive. Otherwise, you’ll walk this earth never feeling whole…and that’s no way to live.”

"They say when you play with fire, you get burned.  But when you love it?  You get destroyed."

Wowwwww this is such a great book. I couldn't stop reading. Its so good. It had me in a rollercoaster of emotions.

My rating system:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Would recommend, would re-read. (Something about this book will stick with me forever!)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Would recommend, might re-read. (I really enjoyed this book for what it was.)

⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Might recommend, won’t re-read. (This book had its moments, but it didn’t stack up against my favorites.)

⭐️⭐️ - Wouldn’t recommend, considered not finishing. (The characters, events, or writing style in this book were not for me.)

⭐️ - Did not finish. (My time is limited and this book was too.)

This book was good with showing the dark side of rock music. I guess that’s what happens when all the members of the band are from broken homes. I only gave it 4 stars because I didn’t care too much for the ending. Is the band going to be successful? Is Lennon going to be successful? What about the couples and the new sister? I hope more books are forthcoming.
