I picked this up because she reviewed Cloud Atlas for the Guardian at its 20th anniversary.

Zevin writes well and her characters are solid and memorable. There are no cringey bits. However, this is primarily about people's feelings which is so much not my jam. I should have done more research. I finished it anyway.
