“I’m not crazy!” I screech. I take a deep, calming breath and arrange the smile back on my face. “I’m just passionate.”

So I read this after the "cat and mouse" duet which I was not in love with. I did like Sibby though so I read this novella and it  did not disappoint. She was my favorite character from those books. It was interesting to hear her backstory though it was obviously going to be sad. Some of it does occur at the same time as Haunting. It is heavy on the smut and Sibby brand humor and violence.

“Flowers can’t survive in a place like this.”

Okay, so I had heard of this book and it being affiliated with Haunting/Hunting Adeline but decided to go ahead and read Haunting Adeline as I was given both Haunting and Hunting back in September 2024 for my birthday. I figured they are labeled as I and II on the spines...sooo, why not right?!?

WELL...I made if maybe 25% into Haunting Adeline when the first mention on "Satan's Affair" happened and I was like...WHOA...I stopped reading it immediately and thanks to KU I was able to download and read Satan's Affair right away before resuming Haunting Adeline. I am so glad that I read it before finishing Haunting Adeline!!

I am sure that if you never read Satan's Affair you will never know what you are missing out on, but if you do read it then you really know the back story and really get to meet and understand Sibby <3

She can smell evil, and it stinks. Sibby and her henchmen travel the country, taking the lives of evil people as easily as we take out the rubbish.

Having read Haunting Adeline, I knew the twist before it came, but it was still interesting to see Sibby's backstory and get a gimpse of Mr Meadows

Read this because it was recommended reading before starting Haunting Adeline. I have a feeling I’d have gotten more satisfaction from it if I had read Haunting Adeline first and had some other context. But it was a fun little splatterpunk horror erotica piece. Very quick read. I do want to know what happens with Sibby next!

Update - I’m actually glad I read this first. In hindsight I think it’s the only book I actually liked from this series.
