After reading 'The Lucky One' and 'The Last Song', and loving them both, I really need to invest in some more Nicholas Sparks books!

This is a wonderful story about love and trust; and how life can challenge a relationship. Nicholas Sparks wrote the book in the point of view of the three main characters. Thibault's, Beth's, and Clayton's. Which makes the readers fully understand what happens between the three characters.
The story is mainly about Thibault, that walked thousands of miles to find Beth, the woman that brought him luck and how he also brought luck to Beth's life.

I'd give it 3.5 stars insomuch as it was a mostly original story that kept my attention, however at times it felt a bit dense with all the descriptions and backstory that needed to be relayed for you to actually invest in the characters. Not that I completely minded. At the beginning the pacing had me dreading the number of pages but toward the end, with the quickened pace, it did have me glancing at the decreasing number of pages thinking, "shouldn't we be coming down from the climax at some point." So definite bonus point for that and wording that had me hoping for a happy ending right up until the last page.
Let me start by saying that Nicholas Sparks is a wonderfully friendly man (yes, I have met him at a book signing - he was generous and attentive to all of his fans), but his books aren't always my favorite. They aren't BAD per se. I just think they all sound kind of the same. The stories full of clichés (weather took a turn for the worse - we must be getting to the dramatic part) and overt characterisation (good guys are practically flawless, bad guys have no redeeming qualities). However, if you look at it as total fluff, it's not too bad. None of the leads died in this one, though, so that's a step in the right direction, right?
A typical Nicholas Sparks novel, which is why I liked it. He's reliable!

Good book and a fast read. Clayton is a cartoon character of evil though.
It was amazing. I was out of town for a wedding that weekend and I found it very difficult to put this book down!
