This book further confirms that I don't really care about Daredevil. Waid is a talented writer, but he does nothing to make the character interesting beyond elaborating how Daredevil sees the world, and trying to figure how Matt Murdock can continue to practice law if everyone knows he's a costumed vigilante.

But there's not much of a hook. I was drawn into Matt Fraction's Hawkeye because it hit upon the fact that Clint Barton is kind of a fuck-up but happens to be part of Earth's Mightest Heroes despite having no powers or grandiose origin. From there, it's just good storytelling, and Waid's Daredevil doesn't really have much going on. The best part of the book is the artwork, and I can see how a lot of artists would have fun trying to visualize how Daredevil "sees" the world.

My estimation of Daredevil remains: He's Marvel's less-interesting Batman, and his superpower is that he's blind, but he actually sees much better than a person who has 20/20 vision.

I read this for the Hub Reading Challenge, but I didn't appreciate this nearly as much as the Ultimate Comics Spider Man I also read for the Challenge.

Some of the artwork is truly amazing, but overall, the illustrations lack cohesion.

I asked my friend for a rec of Daredevil that felt like the latest She-Hulk episode, she suggested I read this one.

I really enjoyed this. I liked the way it flowed and I loved the whole "not daredevil" shtick. I liked how the bruiser villain guy was a good foil abilities-wise for daredevil, the conspiracy at the end, the whole not being able to actually go to court thing. This volume was really fun!

Fun, interesting and full of all that makes the character great!

Hard to top previous runs, however. Remains to be seen if it keeps it up when I read the next few!!

It's... fine. Waid, of course, knows what he's doing. But I prefer my Daredevil to be Bendis or Miller dark rather than whizz bang 50s homage.

It's good to see Daredevil/Matt Murdock have some fun again. Solid writing by Mark Waid (as usual) and beautiful art by Paolo Rivera
