After Devil Bones, this is my favorite @KathyReichs book to date.
I didn't realize this was book 12(??!) in the series when I bought it or as I was reading it. I enjoyed the tv series, so I thought I'd try the books. I was surprised to find the character names are not the same at all (except for the main character) and that the main character has a family. But the book was enjoyable and I wouldn't mind reading others in the series.
I stopped reading this series for a while and picked this up yesterday and finished today. I'm interested again.
Even though this book is similar to all the books in Reich's series about Tempe, I really liked this one. The last few have been interesting, but this one was a change of pace. At the beginning we find Tempe already captured and in danger then throughout the novel the reader much piece together how she arrived there. The mystery in this one is suspenseful and had anxiety up many times. The climax of the novel was very thrilling and I enjoyed it a lot.
Better than the last couple outings for Temperance Brennan. Or perhaps it just seemed so because I hadn't read one in a couple of months. Still wrapped up to quickly and easily.
started this and then remembered I've read it already!
Read this because I had already finished all the books I brought on a trip, so I bought this at the airport. I had never read any of the other books in this series, but I enjoy the TV show Bones, so I thought this would be entertaining. It was a fast read and I often find medical stuff interesting in books like this, but it was terribly terribly predictable. It suffered from the protagonist being completely dense and oblivious for 3/4 of the novel.

Reichs starts the book out with Temperance Brennan trapped in some sort of underground cell and then the book backtracks from there. Brennan has mishandled the remains in two important murder cases--or has she?
I enjoyed this one--despite the predictability, lack of real suspense, and preachiness at the end.
