This book was fine I guess, but never really had me excited to read more. I didn’t necessarily dislike the MCs but their POVs were quite dude-bro-esqueI a lot of the time and that’s just not interesting to me. Also the dirty talk was off for me. I just feel like there was a distinct lack of vulnerability and that’s what I live for, so.

It was fine. I probably expected more from this author duo, but it is what it is. I’ve read so many variations of this plot, but at least this one had a few things to stand out from the rest—in a good way. Such as how there was zero drama, how they told the brother pretty much up front, and how the 80% break-up was more of a mutual decision that drama land. Oh, and how there wasn’t any forced coming-outs. That’s refreshing.

“First rule of FWB club was you didn’t admit feelings. Fuck it, no. The first rule of FWB club was you didn’t catch them in the first place.”

Garrett realizes he's Bisexual when he realizes he's crushing on his brother's best friend and he tries to rid himself of that crush over the years. Fast forward and as his brother's career is ending, his is starting. And so does the beginning of a friends with benefits situation with Ramsey. It wasn't supposed to be serious...

I truly wanted to enjoy this book. It had the potential to be a fun book but I got annoyed instead lol

The "teasing" and "banter" was written in such a way that is not authentic and for me, felt awkward and forced and all the innuendos just became annoying and immature in a way? I rolled my eyes way too much. Read as cringey to me. Along with the fact that the relationship had so much potential for development and tender moments and to really feel their relationship. Instead, there were innuendos for days and sex whenever they were within an inch of each other. For me it just got so boring and tedious, tbh. Take out half of the sex scenes and what was there? Ramsey and Garrett falling for one another but being emotionally blocked. It was super ridiculous to me that they were in denial because they otherwise admitted that they couldn't stay away from one another? They knew they were feeling deeper feelings but when an opportunity came up to admit it even to themselves or someone else it was like "what? No wayyyyy. No feelings here" ok 🙄. Clueless idiots works for me sometimes. It did not here. Maybe I'm becoming jaded with contemporary romance lol.

There were *some* moments of tenderness but not enough. The story felt entirely too predictable even for the genre.

However, there are parts I liked. There are some moments of jealousy in there. There are funny moments. I really did enjoy the "I love you" moment. I love a little dramatic announcement. Considering the immaturity that was so present in this book, there's a great point of relationship communication in this book that I appreciated. Honestly my favourite scene was thanks to Houston, the dinner scene which he plays up to a miscommunication. I cackled.

Houston was my fave. I was more interested in him if I'm being completely honest. I'm assuming he's getting a book? A second chance perhaps? I was thinking maybe with this Whitt guy but maybe that's gonna be a Tucker and Whitt thing... Who knows? I definitely wanna read Houston's book if we're getting it and just hope the "banter" in this book doesn't carry over.

Also I really hope Nunce isn't getting a book... No thanks.
