The girl does not move reading with the concentration that looked like that her life and many others(pun intended) is dependent on the ending of the book,if it isn’t for the slow heaving of her chest she looked dead and dusted. The footage doesn’t change for next 10minutes after which she releases her breath and uncurls her toes realizing just then what she’d been doing
She slams the book down and opens her laptop that’s right beside her and starts typing furiously, words reflecting on her reading glasses saying inversely “why the hell is Brad Pitt taking this long to make these movies?”
That fellas is also something that I can’t seem to understand!! Should we sign a plea?

This is as amazing as the last one, sometimes when a book is as good as Illuminae was, you wonder is the second will live up, Gemina did and then some.

Después de la relectura de "Illuminae" era necesario ponerse con esta segunda parte ahora que seguía estando fresco.
Gemina sigue la estela de su predecesor, manteniendo la narración en forma de emails y chats, pero introduce nuevos protagonistas y una localización diferente a la del primer libro.
Obviamente todo está relacionado y conecta perfectamente con la trama de "Illuminae" a su debido tiempo, pero aporta frescura al tratarse de un nuevo punto de vista.
Al igual que la primera parte, es una historia frenética, divertida y llena de acción, con un equilibrio bastante bueno entre mamarracheo y drama. Se nota la mano de Amie Kaufman a la hora de frenar a su compañero Jay Kristoff con el sufrimiento, ya que a pesar de meter algún que otro momento angustioso, sus historias conjuntas tienden a ir hacia desenlaces menos agridulces en general. Son tramas en general más desenfadadas y ligeras que otras que leí solo de Kristoff, y en alguna ocasión viene bien este respiro.
Parecía al principio que esta parte me iba a gustar más que la primera, pero creo que se quedan más o menos empatados. Me decepcionó un poquito que no explotase algo más un elemento que introduce al principio de la historia y me acabó cansando la forma de narrar. Es divertida, es original y es ágil... Pero llega un punto en el que echo de menos la narración clásica que nos deja meternos un poquito más en la cabeza de los personajes y no se centra tan sólo en la acción.
Mantiene el nivel del primero, continúa bien con la historia y deja ganas de leer la conclusión. Si bien creo que sigo prefiriendo la trilogía de Aurora, lo cierto es que esta space opera no está nada mal para pasar un rato agradable. Veremos como cierra "Obsidio"...

Audio (2018): the voice of the heroine drove me a little nuts. other than that, though, another really fun audio production. Bookwise, this is my fave one. Audio-wise, i liked the first in the trilogy better. Now on to the third....
Book (2016): i liked the first and thought this one was even better.
This was even better than Illuminae, I can wait to read what they come up with next.
