I love this series for audiobooks while driving and doing chores. Tight attention to detail, and i love sudden twists that I should have seen coming but didn't. I wish the library had more than 8 Briggs books available on audio!

I think this is where the series starts to go downhill for me. It starts with an anti-fae/were/other group kidnapping Adam and almost all the pack. That was fine. But they were rogue government agents and that’s really never addressed. That rogue agents kidnap and murder werewolves just gets covered up. At the very end it’s discovered that it was all bankrolled by a vampire trying to take over Marcilia’s seethe. The entire thing has been a vampire plot for territory and they need Mercy to help fight off the vampire. On a positive note, Mercy is learning more about her walker powers and figuring out she has a touch of magic from being almost-Coyote’s daughter.

The whole werewolf pack is kidnapped and Mercy has to find and save them. There are some cool scenes with characters we haven’t seen in a while like Gabriel’s family, and Tad and Zee. At the end we find out *why* the werewolves were kidnapped and I found that part unsatisfying. Also: this the second time in these books where our plot and survival depends on the honor code of mercenaries, so that’s… odd.

Hmm. I'm waffling between a 3 and 4 star rating on this book. 3 stars on Goodreads means I liked it, which is pretty much what it all sums up to, so I'm going with 3. I don't know if this series has run it's course for me and I'm just done with it or what. I liked Frost Burned well enough, but wasn't really excited by anything in it.

It could just be me, but I've found that as authors stretch out a series for too long, I get to the point where I'm kind of just over it. It seems to me as these long series go on and on, the books get a little less and less good. And I feel like it may be time for the author to put the series to rest. I'm not sure if I can think of a series that is an exception to this.

3.5 but better than the previous one. Starts with a bang and I loved every second of the tension of Adam being kidnapped and Mercy having to save him. Unfortunately, the more the story went on, the weaker it got.
