Anna figures herself out. Sort of. I like the story and the journey for both characters. Having read the Mercy books, it was fun to read about the Marrock and others we have met before. I will continue with these two. Charles and Anna have a great deal of potential.
adventurous
tense
slow-paced
I will admit to the fact that I did not love this book as much as I wanted to. I don't really enjoy Anna's character and find her little Latin habit more annoying that endearing. The main reason I enjoyed this book so much? Asil. He is why I enjoyed this storyline, with of course others. One thing I have noticed with Briggs writing over the years, is she doesn't write strong female friends often, which can be a shame.
Interesting read. Would like to read the next in the series.
Brigg's new series continues with Anna's and Charles' story. Charles takes Anna away from Chicago and the pack that tolerated her abuse by their former Alpha. There they investigate attacks by a "rogue werewolf."
Interesting concept of Omega...

Probably more 3 1/2 stars. Would've been a 4, but I kept getting confused about when they were human vs. wolf. It happened back and forth too often to keep up. Much better story than I expected, though, and the protagonist was awesome.
Continuing in this 'verse. Enjoyable and distracting read...beach read for fantasy buffs
Currently reading this one for the third time because it is just that damn good!
