This could've been better. Maybe if I read it instead of listening. Both characters sounded ANNOYING as hell. And Mikey was just unlikeable. I can't put my finger on it.
You can tell this series has great potential. But sometimes it's hit and miss. This was a miss unfortunately

Lucy Lennox surely knows her craft. This is another well written book with perfect pacing, seamless plot formation, strong character development and with everything so well balanced I just couldn’t help but be lost in her story telling ability.
Tiller and Mikey danced around their white hot chemistry for many years due to having a boss/employee relationship and also factoring in that Mikey is the son of Tiller’s coach. When circumstances give them time alone together, without too many external influences immediately impacting them, they finally let the chemistry ignite and things certainly heat up from there. They eventually wrangle their way to a HEA but not without some career and family issues along the way.
This is a fantastic start to the Aster Valley series and I’m looking forward to the next instalment in April where two of the interesting side characters get their story told.

Sweet with a good amount of torture.
Okay, I love Lucy Lennox. I really do. She manages to write really sweet novels that are still really smart and sexy and, like, the perfect amount of angst to keep you yearning for more.
Are they life-changing? No, not really, but when she hits, she HITS (ie HOSTILE TAKEOVER). But they’re feel-good novels that don’t take you to the lowest lows but you get some pretty decent highs. You know?
